Wheely Bug.

It's called a Wheely Bug. We got Avery the ladybug for her first birthday, but they come in a cow and bumblebee print as well. View them all here. I can't say enough about it, though I suppose I will.

It is Australian-made, the wheels are perfect for indoor use and they don't stop rolling when the child goes on carpet. They are called multidirectional castor wheels so they go in every which direction. A steering blunder will certainly not hinder movement. Only an obstacle {wall?} can stop this bug from moving. The antennas are specifically made for children to pull, yank, chew, pull on and they won't come apart thanks to the internal cord built within.

While it is fun for the baby to ride on, they can also hang onto the steering wheel and push the bug. Avery has taken quite a few steps while pushing our ladybug and it's still so much fun to watch her realize what she is doing as if for the first time.

The wood base is plantation timber and is coated in a gloss so splinters or scratches are never an issue. The handlebar is soft and the seat {ie: wheely bug's body} is a padded with 1" soft sponge foam. Best part is that it is 100% PVC free and built with all non-toxic chemicals.

I highly recommend this product. Ave loves it and while she can't scoot around on it on her own quite yet, I enjoy pushing her around the house and hearing her yelp with delight. It comes in two sizes 9-18 months and 18 month-3 years.

  1. so perfect! I love these and think I saw the ladybug one at mothercare in london. Avery looks adorable on her ladybug. I'm seriously considering this for Isobel's bday gift!
